Independence Day

John Witherspoon was the only clergyperson to sign the Declaration of Independence. He was a Presbyterian minister. We Presbyterian clergy always seem to know how to get ourselves into trouble. That is not always such a bad thing. It can, however, result in some dark nights of the soul. Should I speak out about this or not? What will be the cost? Will I be supported? Is it worth it? In the final draft, the most important questions have to be these two: Is it true? Will it further the cause of goodness? I don't know if the world needs another blogger. I do feel the world needs goodness and truth. I will try to keep my words to that standard. I look forward to the conversation.
